Quality Online Training Supporting Afterschool Programs
Learning Support is devoted to supporting after school educators in their pursuit of lifelong learning. Navigation North first assisted the Butte County Office of Education with putting a large library of video-based lessons into their online courses. These videos demonstrate to afterschool staff engaging activities to do with the students in their programs. Rather than just keeping the kids busy, they introduce fun ways to engage and educate them, while building interpersonal skills.
To further expand the resources available on Learning Support, we then worked with them to develop a method for tracking and recording site visits within their CoursePath portal. Not only is it easier for administrators to keep track of progress, but it makes reporting to state agencies a breeze.
Additionally, we have recently ported the CoursePath Curriculum Organizer tool from CTE Online, and customized it for the needs of afterschool educators. This tool provides a means for administrators and educators to collaborate on program and curriculum creation.
