Enhancing education with professional development
CTAP Online is a site devoted to helping teachers understand, apply and teach technology in their classrooms. With a course catalog offering courses in personal proficiency skills, technology integration in curriculum, information literacy, standards, assessment and more, the system has been used to train close to 100,000 educators over the last eight years. Navigation North team members helped create the CTAP Online system on WebCT in the beginning, rebuilt it on the custom CoursePath learning management system, and fostered its growth and expansion in the years that followed. Originally envisioned as a means of training teachers how to use technology over a broad geographic area, the system has expanded to include resource dissemination, communication tools, online course development, easily browseable database of academic standards, and a lesson plan builder for creating and sharing classroom activities.
